He married Patience Fulluck #1173, 30 April 1766, in Gatton PC SRY, b. cir 1746, Gatton, Surrey at time of marriage., (daughter of Edmund Fulluck #1179 and Judith Roffey #1180) d. after 1788.  Patience: Marriage licence shows mariage 30 April 1766; He was 21 and she 20, marrying with consent of her father Edmond Fullock, carpenter. All children were baptised as Meredith, but all dates fit and all turn up again in the Merredew line

She and John lived in a leasehold in Merstham - see Elizabeth's file on the leasehold records.

Died at Broad Green at 12 min to 4pm. 1841 census just shows Thomas age 65 lab and born in Surrey a carrier at Waddon. In 1811 census for Croydon Thomas a carrier of 20/21 Broad Green.

Bill was married before.Have copy of her will which states that she was known as Lillian Violet Vidal otherwise Mary Vidal on her death was living with her brother Arthur -10- and his 2nd wife Marjorie.Her will names her brother Arthur Douglas, sister in law Marjorie Agnes -136-, nephews David Middleton -130- & Basil Middleton -131 & brother Clifford -104.

 

                           (2)  Hilda May Merredew #70, b. 1896, Croydon,Sry. [48]  When quite young went to India as a childrens nurse as a Governess. This was at Quetta. She died of heart disease soon after Basil got married.

                                

                                 She married James Williamson Middleton #71, in Quetta, India, b. 1890, occupation Lieutant-Black Watch, d. 1981, Brighton, Ssx.  James: Returned from India to Scotland to become Secretary and Manager of the Scottish Constitutional Club, then of the Sottish Conservative Club,Edinburgh. Several years later became General Manager of what is now the Chesterfield Hotel in Derbyshire. Retired in Brighton where he died age 92. He was cremated and his ashes were sprinkled in the gardens of Balhousie Castle, Perth.
