Martin Remus #5554, b. c, 1761, d. 1836.  See file W.Remus_Hawaii.txt for attribution of this parentage as 'likely', based on his interpretation of the Church Book for Hansfelde, Saatzig, Pommern [LDS 1334592].

II.   Christian Friederich Remus #375, b. 1790,[1] occupation carpenter cabinet-maker, d. 23 Sep 1882,[2] buried: Lutheran Cem.  Christian Frederick and his  wife Sophia emigrated to Alice Twsp. Ont. Can. in the summer of 1863, bringing the three daughters and Frank August. They left f from Hamburg [their names are on the Hamburg passenger list - to be added]. They are said to have been at sea for 9 weeks [check the type of ship-by that time they should have been in a steamer?].

      

       He married (1) Anna Charlotte Louise Blaedow #404, b. 1795, d. 26 Oct 1837.

      

       He married (2) Dorothea Sophia Albrecht #405, b. 1812, d. 19 Sept 1849.

      

       He married (3) Dorothea Sophia Huebner #376, cir 1850, in Pommerania,[3] b. 24 Aug 1821, d. 17 Sep 1871, Alice Twsp. Ont. Can., buried: Lutheran Cem., Alice Twsp. Ont. Can.

      

       A.   Anna Louise Remus #1177, (daughter of Christian Friederich Remus #375 and Anna Charlotte Louise Blaedow #404) b. 28 Oct 1829, Hansfelde-Saatzig Pomerania Prussia, ref: Huebner History, occupation weaver [1891 census], d. 18 Dec 1915, Alice Twsp Ont Canada, buried: 20 Dec 1915, St peters Cemetery.

            

             She married Friedrich Wilhelm Huebner #1178, 1852, in Hansfelde-Saatzig Germany, b. 7 May 1828, d. 29 Feb 1924, Alice Twsp Ontario Ca.

            

       B.   August Ferdinand Remus #1208, (son of Christian Friederich Remus #375 and Anna Charlotte Louise Blaedow #404) b. Pommerania.[4]

            

             He married (1) Emilie Scheidemann #1209, b. Pommerania, ref: Sherry.

            

             He married (2) Dorothea Sophia Albrecht #405, b. 1812, d. 19 Sept 1849.

            

       C.   Child Remus #5558, (son of Christian Friederich Remus #375 and Anna Charlotte Louise Blaedow #404) b. 18 June 1837,[5] d. Shortly after.

 

       D.   Johanna Louise Emilie Remus #406, (daughter of Christian Friederich Remus #375 and Dorothea Sophia Albrecht #405) b. 06 Jan 1846, Hansfelde Stettin Pomerania, d. 31 Aug 1939, Anaheim California.

            

             She married Edward Bernard Maahs #1210, 7 January 1873, b. Pommerania.

            

       E.   Ferdinand Remus #381, (son of Christian Friederich Remus #375 and Dorothea Sophia Albrecht #405) b. cir 1850.[6]  Stayed in Pommerania when his father and step mother emigrated with young Frank August and his three stepsisters. His sister was Johanna who Married Maahs and lived in California.

 

       F.   Louisa Remus #411, (daughter of Christian Friederich Remus #375 and Dorothea Sophia Huebner #376) b. 26 Dec 1829, Abusfelde Stettin  Pommerania, d. 18 Dec 1915, Pembroke.

            

             She married Frederich Wilhelm Huebner #414, 1852, d. 2 May 1912, Pembroke.

            

       G.   Wilhelm Julius Remus #412, (son of Christian Friederich Remus #375 and Dorothea Sophia Huebner #376) b. cir 1841, Pommerania.

            

             He married Mathilda Theresa Schultz #415, d. 31 Aug 1939, Pembroke.

            

       H.   Frank August Remus #377, (son of Christian Friederich Remus #375 and Dorothea Sophia Huebner #376) b. 6 Apr 1854, Hansfelde, Saatzig,Regierungs Bezirk, christened Confirmed, St Peters Lutheran Church Alice Twsp.Ont, occupation Farmer, d. 9 May 1952, Pembroke Ont. Can., buried: Holmsdale Cem.

            

             He married Augusta Biederman #382, 7 Jan 1873, in Alice Twsp. Ont. Can., b. 22 Sept 1850, Guben Brandenburg Germany, d. 25 Dec 1934, Pembroke Ont. Can., buried: Holmsdale Cem.

            

             1.    Albert William Remus #383, b. 11 May 1874, Alice Twsp. Ont. Can., christened Educated Alice Public School, baptized St Peters Lutheran Church Alice, occupation Lumbering [Remus Bros.], d. 3 Sep 1957.  On the day of his confirmation he went to work in the lumber camps and in 1898 he and brothers Charles and William went to work on the CPR . When he re turned to Pembroke he operated a livery business and in 1917 he and brothers William, Edward, and brother-in-law Harry Middleton created Remus Bros Lumber. He retired when the business was sold in 1952.

                   

                    He married Martha Elizabeth Wagner #1211, 1 Nov 1905, in Pembroke, b. 24 June 1877, Alice, christened Alice Public School, d. 9 Aug 1962, Pembroke, buried: Holmsdale Cemetery , Pembroke.  Martha: Active member of Zion Lutheran Church ; honourary member of ladies Aid Society.

                   

             2.    Charles Gustave Remus #384, b. 28 Aug 1876, Alice Twsp. Ont. Can., d. 9 Jan 1935.

                   

                    He married Wilhelmina Noack #1212, 8 Sept 1903, b. 6 April 1878, Stafford Twsp, baptized Lutheran, d. 8 July 1944, Ottawa, buried: 11 July 1944, Holmsdale Cemetery , Pembroke.

                   

             3.    William Frank Remus #385, b. 20 Mar 1878, Alice Twsp. Ont. Can., baptized 14 Aug 1892, St Peters Alice Twsp., occupation Businessman -lumber autos, d. 21 Feb 1968, Pembroke Ont. Can.

             6.    Hannah Emilie Remus #388, b. 2 May 1884, Alice Twsp. Ont. Can., christened Alice Public School, baptized Lutheran, d. 1967.

                   

                    She married John Boshart #1325, 10 June 1910, in Zion Lutheran Church Pembroke, b. 15 July 1872, Wilberforce Twsp, baptized Lutheran, occupation Steel Equipment Co, d. 6 March 1948, buried: Holmsdale Pembroke.

                   

             7.    Clara Wilhelmina Remus #389, b. 24 March 1886, Alice Twsp. Ont. Can., christened Alice Public School, baptized Lutheran, buried: Later Penticostal Tabernacle.

                   

                    She married George Henry Kohls #1361, 26 Aug 1914, b. 31 Dec 1889, Lutheran, christened Later Penticostal Tabernacle, occupation tinsmith, d. 1966.

                   

             8.    Matilda Mary Remus #390, b. 12 Feb 1888, Alice Twsp. Ont. Can., christened Alice Public school -, baptized Lutheran, d. 19 Nov 1953, buried: Holmsdale Pembroke.  Zion Lutheran Church ; Lutheran Church Women's Society.

                   

                    She married John Carl Brose #1390, 5 Sept 1917, b. 3 Jan 1890, baptized Lutheran, occupation millwright.

                   

             9.    Henry Ferdinand Remus #391, b. 28 Jan 1890, Alice Twsp. Ont. Can., christened Alice Township Public School, baptized Lutheran, occupation CPR Engineer Chapleau On, d. 31 May 1981, Holmsdale Pembroke.  Moved back to pembroke when he retired in 1955.

                   

                    He married (1) Mary Sutcliff #1423, 24 June 1915.

                    He married Alice Johanna Schultz #1441, 9 June 1920, b. 3 May 1893, christened Alice PublicSchool, baptized Lutheran.

                   

             11.  Martha Marie Remus #393, b. 14 Mar 1895, Alice Twsp. Ont. Can., christened Alice Public School, baptized Lutheran and later Wesley United, occupation Stenographer/Bookkeeper, d. 3 Oct 1977, buried: Wesley United Cemetery.

                   

                    She married Harry H. Middleton #1466, 30 Aug 1916, b. 25 June 1882, occupation Businessman, d. 9 June 1968, buried: Wesley United Cemetery.  Harry: Educated at Dunalk High school and Northern Businsess College. came to pembroke in 1913 as bookkeeper for Pembroke Shook Mills and later in business for himself 'Middletons Flower and Feed' with store and warehouse at the bridge in pembroke; he was also a partner in Remus Bros Lumber.
